February Recap
Fighting a cold for the past three weeks made me forget I have a personality. Let’s throw into the mix, this is the first time my boyfriend and I have ever tried actually living together. I have not been a treat to live with, to say the least.
Being sick for practically 3 entire weeks? It all makes sense when I reflect:
A brand new environment
Picking up extra shifts (just because “I live so close now!!”)
Working closely with SO many people who are also sick
10x more social time than I’m used to (I practically lived alone and would rot when I got home from work, now there’s a boy everywhere I go!)
More workouts (“cause the good classes are right around the corner!!!”)
I’m not a gal who likes to cancel on people and I also am not the best at rest. Especially when someone is near me. I need isolation, hibernation mode, nonverbal for a few hours to recoup. Andddd well, we’ve been sharing a double bed.
So it’s been an adjustment to say the least.
Good news, we still love each other, and what’s a challenging season without a few lessons?
I’m not afraid to go home when I really need it (hi my own bed and mom who makes me soup)
I did not expect to love a Toronto neighbourhood! (Sounds silly but I’ve lived in three different spots and hated them all)
You always get through the hard stuff and this has definitely has made us stronger
Getting sick is part of life and is often something we can’t control. We can do everything in our power to prevent it, but it just happens sometimes. One of my bosses reminded me of this and I’m so grateful. She said that, “We take on being sick as if it’s our own personal error when really it’s part of the human experience.” That was my mantra when I was in the thick of it, as well as “This is not permanent.”
So now that I’m back to health (almost there fully) I wanted to share that I’ve resurrected the podcast! New episodes have been dropping every Monday (minus today cause well u know…)
I haven’t been posting snippets or video clips of it on social as I’m finding a new way I want to share about it. So I hope this finds you well, and if you enjoy an episode, it would mean the world if you shared it with someone you love.
Onward and upward, goodbye sore throat, hello March!!!
Lots of Love,
Jessica Jane
